$80.00 in debt might not seem like much...

But it's not a number I want to see. I'm just thankful that I was able to make two payments towards that this month, and I am hoping next month I will be able to pay it off completely. I have always been taught to be frugal with my money and to never get into debt. That doesn't mean I haven't gotten into debt, it just means that I am as proactive as possible when I am in debt. I remember several years ago there was a forum dedicated to debt. You were able to chat about your debts, get advice from other people and from experts, and earn a little cash towards getting rid of those debts. It wasn't a lot of money, but I think I made $2.00 a week from the forum. It didn't last long, and I think it was actually more of a study / community before those things became popular. I won't ask about your debts because it's none of my business, but how many of you are stressing about money at the moment?

I think all of us are facing debts, I mean we cannot live without debts, even those rich people also have debts.

This is very true, but every little debt I incur seems to stress me out.

@JustBhem I hope he's able to pay them down and keep paying them down. I am unable to buy things that I want because of my little bit of debt, but that is okay because I am getting rid of the debt slowly but surely. Working from home isn't easy but it's something that I love to do.

It is excellent the group were able to talk about their debts and get advice. Amazingly it paid a small amount of money to help pay off some debt. I paid off my mortgage in June 2017 and won't wish to go back into that sort of debt. I love to travel to different countries. If I use my debit card overseas I get a charge for spending in a foreign currency. Before August 2017 I had a N and P debit card which let me spend without fees overseas. Then they got rid of all of their customers. I have a Metro Bank card which allows no charges in Europe. It isn't worldwide which is annoying. There are traveler credit cards. However I don't like going into debt.

@ScribbledAdNauseum There are even credit cards which give Avios Points for free flights. Only the airport tax has to be paid and any fuel surcharges. It is best with that to fly inside Europe or the fees are horrendous. I hate all the hidden fees with UK debit cards.

@maximax8 Are you talking about debit cards that aren't affiliated with a bank? I think the ones here in the US are like that too. As for the ones affiliated with a bank, there are only fees if you do not have a certain balance in your account.

With the advancements in travel and travel being what it is, you think companies would adapt and not charge so many hidden fees and currency exchange fees. Except, of course, that credit cards are nothing more than a necessary money racket, and companies will take advantage of that when they can.

@porwest Thank You. This isnt' as bad as I have had it. I have had debt go to collections, and I hated having to work with the collections company. Luckily, I didn't have to do that this past time.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Owing money to anyone is stressful, at least that's what I have found. These days I have quite a lot of money...but it took a while and it was not always that way. I hope you get it worked out so you don't have to stress.

I have more debt that $80 but a lot less than others do. Depending on your view of debt I should be out of debt by the end of the year. The only debt I will have at that time is my normal living expenses (electric, phone, auto insurance ect.) otherwise I am happy to have no car payment, credit cards, house bill, doctor bills, those are all going to be payed by the end of the year. So at this time I am not stressed about money.

The most debt I've ever been in was a little over $1000. I started with $500.00 in debt on this one but slowly but surely been paying it off. I don't consider living expenses to be a debt unless one isn't able to meet all bills each month.

@ScribbledAdNauseum oh, so house and car do not count? If that is the case then I have been about $6000 due to credit card and doctor bills but never was really worried about it cause I know over time I was going to pay it down. I do know people that are in a lot more debt and are worried about if they can pay each month. Sadly, a few of those people are still paying on those college loans and credit cards that they may never pay off.

@Bensen32 I get stressed over $1000, but that's probably because of the huge headache I had to deal with when getting rid of my debt as a young adult.

I am definitely worried about money. Things are tight. We do have some debt. Mostly just students debts. Our debts together aren't that much compared to others, but still ... We'd still like to pay them off.

We are ok at the moment for the most part . . . but as we know in life things/situations are always changing . . . so I do have certain concerns about the future including financial stuff. Hubby and I are no longer in the younger age bracket . . . the kids are getting older too . . . there will be so many needs to take care of in the future near and far. And the way things are going in this country, I'm not feeling particularly positive about a lot of things these days . . . I stress about a lot of things .

I've gone through spells where I've had more money, and then of course something usually comes up. I'm working on building up my savings again.

Our only debt is our mortgage and we're working hard to pay that off early. There have, however, been times when we used credit cards unwisely. Thankfully we eventually grew up.!

I had to learn the hard way about using credit cards unwisely. Atleast I learned that at a very young age. This is credit card related but it was not nearly as bad as it could have been, and it's what I incurred when I had to pay off my ObamaCare.
