I remember the days gone by when our family would go on picnics. Mama would cook fried chicken before the day and that cold chicken with salt was so tasty. What are your favorite memories of picnic food or family favorites?

We never went to family picnics when I was young, I went with my husband a few times. We liked to bring roasted chicken and potato chips.

To be honest, I don't remember ever going on a picnic with my parents. I have gone with friends and boyfriends. My kids are grown but I have taken them on a lot of picnics when they were young.

@TiarasOceanView Well, yes, maybe I don't count being at beach and bringing sandwiches with me. O, it's greenery and it is not mowed

My family never really went on family picnics when we were young. We would bring a bucket of chicken to the family reunion every summer, but that was about all. My husband and I have long been picnic people. We have a small portable propane grill, and we can pack a pretty good picnic and are well known for it in my family. My older brother's 3 kids used to beg us to take them on a picnic whenever they were staying over, and then my parents would usually show up just about the time we would be ready to eat.
