Not So Basic Sand Castle

During our visit to Cabilao Island my little cousins from the US where trying to build a sand castle and I was surprised that they did so well. They put in some plant pieces to make it appear like their castle had trees and they even put in a canal and a bridge. I was impressed. It made me feel nostalgic of when I was younger and still enjoy doing those things. Kids these days seem more creative though. I wonder if it’s the technology and television that caused this creativity. My sand castles back then were too basic.

@JustBhem Oh maybe now that you know how to swim you can build sand castle as an adult.

@flapiz I don’t make sand castle whenever we are on the beach when I was a kid. I was busy learning to swim.

Yep. It’s challenging to keep the sand together. This activity is also a subtle way of teaching kids about loss and resilience. You know how long it takes to built and the next day it’s gone and you just have to try again.

I wish I could do this making of a sandcastle. Since I am living in the mountain, I never tried to make one.

Oh that’s quite sad. Well next time if you ever go to a beach that’s one thing you could try.

Yep I believe so. Like all those interior designs, art shows, and science shows in TV definitely made kids more creative. Also that game called mine craft.

Even as an adult I still like building sand castles when I go to the beach! But I'm like you, my sand castles are pretty basic!

Hahahaha it’s fun right even if it’s basic. I marvel at those who can create really big ones.

@flapiz I get jealous of those that can create sand castle masterpieces. I wish I can make my sand castles as big and elaborate as some people make theirs.

@amitkokiladitya Even I haven’t done it in a long time. Watching the kids did awaken the child in me.

I think it depends on the kid themselves how creative they are . These love to build. perhaps they will be architects

I’m guessing they will be doctors as both their parents are. They do love building. They were looking for legos the first time they got here.

Oh yeah that one’s fun too although it can get rather itchy if the sand had those insects that bite.

@sophie09 Yep lesser problems when we were young. Although we can reminisce and try to recreate it for a few minutes at the beach.
