So...yesterday I wrote about the thievin' raccoons running off with one of my suet feeders...chain and all. This morning, guess what I saw out front...hanging in the Squirrel Tree? The missing suet feeder...chain and all. Of course, I quickly figured out what had happened. The feeder hangs on a fairly long chain...and one of the 'coons had pulled the feeder up into the tree and left it on a branch (or something). And overnight, it (or another raccoon) had gone up the tree and knocked it loose from where it was laying...so there it was hanging out front this morning. Oh well...at least I now know they didn't break the chain loose.
Okay, it wasn't this guy...he's innocent even though he's dressed like a bandit. [em]rofl[/em] But sometimes overnight, one of the neighborhood 'coon pack...

You obviously didn't look very carefully. Or maybe they took it right away then put it back next day.

I have heard of this working with squirrels..... Grease the chain so it’ll slip out of their hands.

That is pretty cool overall, First, the smart raccoon that figured out what had to be done. The second, unfortunately late raccoon that was providing the coverup.

They have been taking rebellious lessons from Scar, but are not quite as good at unfastening things.

I'd put up a camera with a sensor. When the sensor is activated I'd have a mallot ready to come down. Wahla! Flat raccoon.

May be Rocky did you the favor, he noticed you missed the suet and the chain and he knocked it down.
