Would you pay 5 bucks for 35 pcs of gum?

So, I was in the store the other day and spied these Trident gum balls in a spiffy little container. They were a bright lemon color, and caught my eye. I figured they would be expensive because they were new and packaged to be eye catching. The clerk said I think they are 6 bucks.... He checked the price, and said no, they are 5.. That would be the day, I would pay 5 bucks for 35 pieces of gum..What about you?

okay, aging myself here. I remember the day that I could buy 35 gumballs for ... wait for it ... .35 cents. 5 bucks is ridiculous. you are paying an awful lot for that container.

That is why I don't shop at Whole Foods! Well actually, sometimes I pop my head in there, not everything is outrageous.

I don't chew gum. My fiancé does and we buy packs from Target. He currently has a jar of Extra. Then changes it up next time when he's done. But $5 for 35 pieces of gum seems expensive? Anything special with the gum? Whitens teeth or anything or just the flavor and container?

I don't know how many pieces were in there. I am guessing about the number of pieces. I don't know about Calif but here our gum doesn't cost that much.

@snowy22315 Oohhh I see. Gum varies depending where it's bought from. I typically just buy gum from Target for my fiancé.

That's fourteen cents each. If I chewed gum, which I don't, that would be a bargain.

It's not a bargain trust me...you can get more than that for a buck at Dollar Tree. I am just guessing at the amount that was in the container it could be less than that, besides you pay tax on that as well.

@snowy22315 That's true. I don't chew gum so I don't know what is pricey and what isn't.

I have that even the big bags of m&ms are like $7. I mean if you eat them alot then i guess you can because you can make it last for a week or more. Like i have bought the $4 pack of m&ms very few times before and whenever i craved some i would just take a few out of the bag.

I would not spend more than 3 dollars for a large pack of M&M's either.

Gum should be a penny a piece.
