My granddaughter and her brand new baby girl (Anna) were released from the hospital today. I'm afraid they let them go too quickly and she will be back in the emergency room. Her feet and legs were badly swollen. And she's very sore from the cesarean. But she's home with hubby and the baby's swinging in her little swing chair. Hopefully everything will be well.

@crazyhorseladycx Thank you, hospitals do spread a lot of infections, it might be best to get out quickly. She's doing fine and so is the baby. They had a doctors appointment today.

They spit them out of the hospital quickly these days, don't they? I would have thought that they would have kept her for at least a day or two just to make sure no infection set in on the C-section incision area. Maybe the length of stay is determined by what the insurance company will cover? I hope everything ends up okay for your granddaughter.

@RubyHawk As long as she takes it easy, gets lots of rest, and doesn't move around too much, she should be fine.

@moffittjc You're right, she'll be fine but you know how mothers and grandmothers worry about their kids.

Hope all goes well too. There are home visiting doctors and I saw a commercial about online doctor visits too: https://livehealthonline.com/
https://www.mdlive.com/what-we-treat/
Swollen feet and all that pain even going to the emergency is difficult. I never had one of these visits and don't know if your family's health plan covers it or cost of it, but saw commercials about it on tv.
I found these sites to ease c-section pain:
https://healthfully.com/537233-how-to-ease-post-c-section-pain.html
https://justhealthlifestyle.com/how-to-reduce-tummy-after-cesarean-delivery-home-remedies/
https://www.healthline.com/health/pregnancy/c-section-tips-for-fast-recovery
Hope these help and take care. Knowing help is near by and fast is such a comfort.

It takes a while for swelling to go away after having a baby water retention. As long as they are not hot she should be okay.

I always worry these days that they send new mothers home to quickly but I believe it is an insurance thing. Hopefully, all will be well. She is such a cute little girl.

@chrissbergstrom That's wonderful, I'm glad you were so lucky. I only knew one of my grandmothers. She was the only one living when I was born.

@kobesbuddy Hopefully, we’ve had my better half’s surgery to get ready for and I didn’t realize it would take so much time and effort. But in the morning is surgery time and he can begin to heal.
