Learning how to make mojitos.

The last time I went to Tania´s house, Diego ended the day by making some wonderful mojitos with a twist of his own touch. It was the best I had ever had. So today I asked him if he could make one for us and discovered I did not have many of the ingredients. I will buy them and invite Diego over. He can make Luna happy playing with her and he can also make me happy sipping a mojito while I watch them. He wrote the recipe and maybe I could take it to Aruba to make mojitos there. I´m crossing my fingers so that he continues to behave. He was my rebel grandson a couple of years ago and I wish that stage is over.

My husband likes mojitos, I am not a fan and I avoid because you have to add sugar syrup. Well, it's always a lot less calories than a Piña Colada, but always too many.

For me, part of it all is the applaud something that Diego is proud to be doing well. But the mojitos are very good too.

@LadyDuck Margaritas were the drinks that Dixie liked best but now she cannot drink much because of her heart plus diabetes.

@marguicha I like Daiquiris and Margaritas more, or a classic Gin Martini, very dry.

Try the piña colada. That is very easy, but you have to get a good pineapple.

I had never heard of a mojito before. I was in the store today and found some water flavoring that was "mojito flavored." I got it. It was good. Mint and lime. Delicious!

Real mojitos also have some white rum. But if you don´t drink liquor, that can be a good alternative.

Sometimes the rebels turn out marvellous young men. I do hope that is the case with Diego. If he finds a profession he likes, it might make all the difference.

I hope so. He seems to have found a path of his own.

I have tried to make mojitos many times after being taught by bartenders but I am dreadful at it. I leave it to bartenders these days.
