Day 17 Revelation 7 Revelation 7:1 And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree. 2 And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, 3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. 4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed a hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel. 5 Of the tribe of Judah were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand. 6 Of the tribe of Asher were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Naphtali were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Manasses were sealed twelve thousand. 7 Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand. 8 Of the tribe of Zebulun were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand. 9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; 10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sits upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. 11 And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God, 12 Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honor, and power, and might, be unto our God forever and ever. Amen. 13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? And whence came they? 14 And I said unto him, Sir, you know. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he who sits on the throne shall dwell among them. 16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. 17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes. Have you felt forgotten, like no one cares about you? With hardship around you, one catastrophe after another without a chance to breathe, you wonder when it will end and does anyone care about what you face? Jesus paused before opening the seventh seal and commanded angels set aside for a specific purpose to go through the tribes of Israel and seal them against any further trouble. No matter what happens next, they will not experience any more tragedy. They came to the end of their trouble. With the twelve tribes sealed, the elders asked John who the angels sealed. When John told them they knew, they told him they came out of the Great Tribulation and washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb. Their robes are robes of righteousness the saints receive for remaining faithful to Jesus. Now Israel received their robes for their faithfulness to Jesus. God has not forgotten His chosen people. They will join the other saints from every kindred, tribe, and nation and sing praises to the Lamb who sits on the throne for He alone is worthy of all blessing, glory, honor, wisdom, thanksgiving, power, and might. As they sang, the elders fell before the throne and worshiped the Lamb. All those sealed in their foreheads would serve God day and night before the throne. They will hunger and thirst no more and Jesus, the Lamb of God, would wipe every tear from their eyes and feed them and lead them to fountains of living water. Jesus talked about living water one other time. John 4:4 And he must needs go through Samaria. 5 Then came he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. 6 Now Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour. 7 There came a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus said unto her, Give me to drink. 8 (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.) 9 Then said the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, ask drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? For the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans. 10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that said to thee, Give me to drink; you would have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. As Christians, living water is yours for the asking. Jesus is ready to give you living water to refresh your spirit and give you food to eat so you will never hunger again. His food and drink is His Word which goes deep into your soul to refresh your spirit. John saw Jesus give the Tribulation saints of the twelve tribes of Israel the same food and drink He gave everyone who accepted Him as Savior and Lord. No one is left out of God’s plan of salvation. Did you accept Jesus as Savior and Lord? Are you partaking of the living water that refreshes your soul and spirit? Let’s pray: Father, refresh my spirit with Your living water so I will never hunger and thirst again. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Yes, Jesus is my Savior, my Redeemer and my Lord. This particular scripture puzzled me for I don't understand what does 144,000 children of tribes of Israel mean?
