Another Thorny Treat

After I'd cut the lawn this afternoon I had a wander round the garden and noticed these pretty little rosebuds peeping out from the laurel hedge. It's not always easy to capture a rosebud at its best but I think I caught these two at just the right time in their development. I hadn't noticed until today that the buds are two tone. When they're in full bloom they're a deep almost chocolatey red.
