"It is not for me to judge another man's life. I must judge, I must choose, I must spurn, purely for myself. For myself, alone." My best friend broke with his girlfriend last year, but they have been in touch so far. There has been on and off moments to which I have always opposed. I have seen him in depression and can't really see him going through the tough times again. But today, he finally said that he is over her. Now they have blocked each other's numbers and would never contact, though I am not a believer that blocking numbers restricts people.... Finally, I also understood a major point that it's not my job to judge people or situation, I am here to do my part of job. I am here to help my friend recover and not to judge his girlfriend. Whatever she did, it's her choice... Though ultimately it's sad Hope I did the right thing, and I am thinking in right direction....

As a friend you're there to listen but not to judge him on what he did.

It's so human to get prejudiced over people. But sometimes we don't see the picture in totality as we are seeing it through someone else's lense. Glad that you chose to help your friend but not judge his ex.

@Aansh13 It is so natural. You can have a prejudiced view about the girl from the stories you hear from you friend. And since you are close to your friend, you feel connected to him and would see things from his lens. Relationships are always subjective. And to carry it on or to drop it, both are involved though they might not be in equal share.

Break up, blocking numbers and social media accounts are very common nowadays! I Hope your friends get the right person. At this he will be heartbroken and I think you did the right thing by helping him.
