Health Report - Day 21

No pain, no gain. That's what everyone says about physical fitness and losing weight. Well, this morning, I got into the pain portion of my fitness routine. Don't worry, I didn't overdo anything. However, I did increase the weight for the ab crunch machine and yes, I felt it when I reached 50 reps with the weight at 62.5. However, I needed to decrease the weight to 10 on the leg curls. I couldn't move the pad at 30 this morning. The 10-pound weight is the only other option. I did keep it at 60 for the leg press. Which I still did 70 of and will for a few more days yet. That said, here are the numbers for yesterday. Calories: 1355.84 Sugar: 66.98 Carbs: 212.27 Protein: 75.8 Sodium: 483 Fat: 27.35 Calories Burned: 795 Total Calories: 560.84 I ate light yesterday with a salad for lunch which kept my numbers low. I aided my protein with a burger for supper. My weigh-in is Friday, two days from now and I'm excited to see how I've done over the past month as I pushed to get the weight off. I'm hoping to see a minimum of 11 pounds gone. I'll know on Friday what the actual total is. What do you do to maintain a healthy lifestyle? Thanks for reading. Image courtesy of Pixabay.

I go to the gym regularly and watch what I eat--especially limiting carbs

That's great you watch what you eat. The only hard carbs I eat are potatoes and bananas. I've limited myself to one banana a day now. I might have two potatoes a day.

@NJChicaa That's a nice saying. I know I'm eating less than before.

@just4him the trainers at the gym say “you get strong at the gym and you get skinny in the kitchen”

@just4him I weight everything I eat, just to be sure about the number of calories, a little more oil makes a big difference.

That's great you're able to walk every day. I'm learning to watch what I eat as I track the calories and makeup of the foods I eat.

I have reduced my food and trying to exercise or walk more. I do not think I have lost an ounce! But I have not weighed either.

You do a lot of exercise every day with the work you do and taking the dogs for a walk. From what I've read about what you eat, why would you reduce your food? With everything you do, you need the extra to keep on an even keel. Then again, I could be wrong. I'm just going off what you say you eat and everything you do. You're a very busy lady and I expect a trim one too.

@andriaperry That makes sense then that you have reduced your food. I'm glad it's working for you.

@just4him I am not skinny but not real fat either, but on June 23rd. I started the 1200 calorie a day diet the doc wanted me on, because of diabetes. I have been diabetic since 2007

You are staying ahead of the game burning off more calories than gained.

You're still doing a great job, exactly what I've expected! To maintain a healthy lifestyle, we are doing like you are, exercising more often. Also, I'm focusing on cooking with less fat and a more healthy menu. Jay is losing weight, without even trying.

@just4him Actually, Jay has been riding his bike 40 miles a day! That's how he's trimming down, at this time.

Sounds like good numbers to me! Hope you will see the number you want on the scale! As you know, I eat a low carb diet (when I am sticking to it). I need to add exercise back into my routine though.

That's great you get outside to jog. The last time I did pushups was in high school. That was a long time ago. Thank you.

Oh you make me feel guilty enough to get up off the sofa and go for a walk--I am just so lazy about ll this lately---I used to walk and do yoga pretty much every day--I fell out of the habit of exercising and my weight has crept back up--

I don't want you to feel guilty, but maybe that's your conscience telling you to take that walk.

As I'm three days behind on notifications, my weigh-in was good. I lost 6 pounds. Not the 11 I wanted, but it's still good and I hope to lose the rest by this time next month.
