This year the emoji world welcomed some new and interesting critters. One of them in the flamingo emoji. Flamingos are fascinating birds all pretty and pink. They are wading birds native to tropical America and two species can be found in Asia, Africa, and Europe. These birds are pink because they get their coloring from the bacteria and beta-carotene that come from the food they eat like shrimp. You can tell if flamingos are healthy by the brightness of their color. It was in the 1560s that the word flamingo first showed up in the English language. The latest emoji depicts the long-necked flamingo standing with one leg up. These flamingo emoji can be used in posts that tell about trips to tropical places and locations known for flamingos like Florida. Have you seen this emoji?
