It seems like I am so lucky to have a visitor today. Before it flies away, I grab my mobile phone to take a photo of it. At first, I was startled to have a glimpse of this creature. Since I am not aware of this kind of insect species, I tried to research about it and found out that it is one of the biggest moths in the Philippines called a 'giant atlas moth.' 'Have you seen this kind of moth?' 'Do you like doing research on something?' Image Credit: Shavkat

Yeah, I love to do research on topics that interest me, which has come on handy because of internet. That's a clear photo you have there of this butterfly specie.

@Shavkat you are correct and it saves us the hassles of going to the library or buying books and carry tons of reading materials. It comes handy in a phone.

In the province I have seen a lot of it in my childhood. They are rare nowadays. But be sure not to look very close on it since they say they emit this tiny hair like things that when it lands on your eye could irritate you badly.

I tried my best not to be near it. I had this wild imagination to catch it. But it would be cruel for me to do this.

@Shavkat Actually my grandma used to do that and collected so many. I have them before she passed away but of course no one was interested in preserving then. But she had collected a lot of different varieties that was interesting to look at.

@rsa101 I remembered when I was young my granny has one framed before. I think she bought it. I was so fascinated to see it way back then. I don't know where is it now. Do you hang them on the wall?

I have seen a lot, and we believe that someone from the other side visited us.

We also believed that the people who passed away visited the family members in the house. I was thinking that my late father visited us. His birthday is fast approaching and that would be next month.

I can say it in approximate size, my friend. I think the wingspan is 8 inches. It is very rare to see them in my city.

@Bensen32 I was also feeling amazed. It is not common to be seen in the city. Perhaps I did really have this lucky day to see it.

@Shavkat Yes, they are beautiful. I have found out that moths and butterflies are different do they have in common. Moths are nocturnal. Butterflies are diurnal.

This is a very beautiful moth. I don't see them often. If I ever see it, usually it is just a simply gray moth.
