Watching man walking on the moon again.

I did some zapping in the TV and found a program given by Nat Geo Channel. It was about the space program that led to the walk of man on the moon.
While I was watching it, I felt the exhilaration I felt, 50 decades ago, when the feat took place.
I sometimes get angry when I see the passing of the years on my body. I rant at my ailments too many to be written. But in these moments, I can see that I had the luck of being born in a very special moment of history.
I was passing from childhood to teenage when the Sputnik, the first satélite, could against all odds surmount gravity and circle in space.
And I was a very young woman when I saw from my black and white TV Neil Armstrong setting his feet on the moon.
Children now are not as capable of wonder as we were then. Each big feat is a miracle for me. We are relating here with people all over the world and we are making friends of many. This is amazing for me. I have never taken it for granted just as I never took for granted the non stick pots and pans (side products of the space program).
I am thankful for all I have been able to live. I just would like that man, so capable of making miracles, don´t destroy it all.

I remember it like it was 50 years ago!
It was an amazing time, and one moment where we united as a country — as a planet — for a good reason.

I would say 'as a planet'. I was here, in Chile, watching the Apollo 11 feat. And before that, the Sputnik was also the beginning of the unthinkable. I remember there even was a rock called Sputnik. And now that memory goes back, I don´t know how many dogs were named Laika across the world after the first dog on space.

I wholly agree. We have to start doing this in earnest. Now in my country, there is a show whose name is 'use glass'. I did not know that glass was recyclable.

It was amazing. And now, 50 years later, they are showing documentary shows of that time.

I´m sure there will be all sorts of documentary programs on TV in these days. It is the 50th anniversary.
