So, two kings? In todays Did You Know I tell you about the two kings that you were all guessing about. Yesterday, I hinted that the two I would talk about were kings.
Alright I will just get to it.
Elvis Aaron Presley: King of Rock 'n Roll or The King
We all know Elvis right? But Did You Know he was drafted into the Army in March of 1958? He was already famous at the time and instead of trying to get out of the service he said he didn't want to be treated any differently then anyone else.
He would serve in the 3rd Armored Division in Germany. He would serve his full 24 month enlistment before being honorably discharged and returning to his amazing musical and movie career.
John William Carson: The King of Late-Night
The Johnny Carson Show, we remember that? Did You Know that Johnny Enlisted in the U.S. Navy in June of 1943? He did and got accepted into the V-12 Navy College Training Program and would do his officer training at Columbia University and Millsaps College. He would be assigned to the USS Pennsylvania in the Pacific. He served as a communications officer on the ship.
Also Did You Know he held a 10-0 amateur boxing record?
Now you know, two more to thank for their service.
