I have a couple of varieties of sunflowers coming up all over the yard. It seems the birds have planted from the food I was giving them. Now they can harvest their own sunflower seeds directly. It is a lot of fun to see what is new every day at our home.

The birds planted them in my garden, they are all growing around the bird feeders.

Really is and it is also how God designed nature to work. I leave them in place to feed the birds and smile when I see them.

I need to dig up a pumpkin vine that I found while weeding today and try to move it. I have them surprising me everywhere this year.

how purty! yes ma'am, they've done the same 'round here 'n they do come'p'n the oddest 'f places. i'm waitin' fer 'em to start bloomin' here. i've some by the road that're near 6' tall, most likely from those we planted'n the garden last year'n not from the store bought seeds we feed the birds, lol. come winter, we gather the seed heads'n hang 'em 'round the fences (backyard) so's there'd be some protection from the winds fer the birds to 'njoy.

I will keep that in mind. May hang mine around the compost bin or on the lattice screen I set up for my houseplants.

I did that once! My neighbours admired my display of sunflowers dotted among bronze lettuces. I had to explain that the birds were responsible for the sunflowers, and the lettuces were the result of me spreading compost too soon after previously putting a gone-to-seed lettuce on the heap.

Oh, it sounds beautiful to me. I have a volunteer cucumber from one that went to seed last year.

Yes, it is. The ones that are doing well were seeded in places the mower does not get to.

And I am going to leave them growing. They also planted mullein last year. It is a biennial and so I look forward to seeing it bloom next year.

I bet that is a pretty scene. Mine did not come up or got ate before they sprouted. I had a flock, is it flock? of red birds feeding in the yard earlier, so many they tripped the alarm in the yard.

O wow! Red birds setting off an alarm. Some people believe that red birds or cardinals are the spirits of loved ones visiting you. I have some cultivated type sunflowers that I never seem to get planted. Too late for this year.
