I got the lab test results. It is good and bad. Good because my husband's cholesterol and triglycerides are both normal. I cannot remember when was the last time he had those within the normal range, it was always elevated. But his uric acid and blood sugar are elevated and he has low sodium. Bad for me, I have elevated uric acid, cholesterol direct hdl and bacteria in my urine. This is the first time I have high range in my cholesterol so that makes me a bit worried. I have to go to let the doctor read the results.. How is your Monday?

That’s the reason why you have a high blood pressure. You need to work it.

Cholesterol goes higher as you age. If you are not dieting then it will rise faster. Uric acid need you to slow down on taking in foods that can elevate it. Avoid string beans and all those nuts in general since they tend to increase uric acids. They could start arthritis and gouts if left uncontrolled.

Glad everything is normal with your husband. Your doctor will suggest what needs to be done for you. Hopefully, you won’t need medication, just a change in diet. Good luck!

@rakski The diet shouldn't be too awful to do once you get the hang of it. It may even lower you bp!!!! It's a healthier way of eating.

yes, diet first before medications was what the doctor told me. Since this is a first time for me to have elevated cholesterol. I will maintain the meds for hypertension though and monitor my BP for 2 weeks

@rakski It is a lot better if you can reduce the cholesterol with the diet without medications. Take care, I wish you will be well soon.

The good results are good and I'm sure with a little effort you can improve the bad ones. It's always a little unsettling getting results from tests.
