Something tells me I wasted money yesterday when I bought my colonoscopy prep material. I went by the hospital today (since I was in the neighborhood, it was raining, and they have an indoor walking track between the buildings) to make sure I was pre-registered for my procedure, which is next Tuesday. (You've been warned: if I have a crappy outlook next Monday you'll know why.) Then they told me what my part of the cost would be, after insurance. Eleven hundred dollars. That's enough to empty my colon right there! I looked on my health insurance's website. They say they'll pay for a colonoscopy screening (the Cologuard thing, I'm guessing) with no cost to me. The problem is, I can't have that because there's a family history of colon cancer (my maternal grandfather and uncle). Oh, well. Time to set up a Go Fund Yourself account to pay for my crappy test.
