If you have no general knowledge, why would you go on a general knowledge quiz show?

It always amazes me, when watching quiz shows on TV, how often the contestants seem to know absolutely nothing! I don't think I would want to embarrass myself by displaying my ignorance in front of the watching millions, but some people don't seem to mind! Maybe the chance of getting your face on the telly is the only thing that counts!

It's embarrassing even to watch some people. Some don't know the simplest things.

This is clearly a worldwide phenomenon, although I suspect that some of the contestants on this side of the world are only vaguely aware that the other side exists - and vice versa!

A general knowledge TV show is coming in the local language (Bengali) soon. I usually see it to improve my GK.

I don't know, i would get scared of not getting the right answer even if the knowledge is common.I could forget it out of pressure.
