This is not the first time that Philippine Charity Sweepstakes office had gone into trouble was few years ago. Some rumored that people who won were actually employees on the office.
I thought it was already investigated. But I was wrong and now the President of this country shuts this down.
Horrible really because not only you get no chance of winning what bout those who needed help.

And the Government is doing great about this.
Before we can get help and they gave us 20k worth of health assistance, GL. Then we can get 10 injections, then later on we can only get 3 injections and sometimes they will tell us no budget for now.

It would be okay if this will temporarily suspended and cleaned of its ranks. But I think PCSO has helped a lot of people from its lottery that is worrying me. A lot of indigents are really depending on them right now and stopping this would mean that the government will not be able to help them since the only source of funding for them is the lottery proceeds. Unless the government can readily get it from other sources of funds. Jueteng will again be resurrected because of this as well. The main purpose of this was to eradicate the small town jueteng operators that is unregulated and is much more a scam to the poor people. Now that the state owned lottery draw is gone then this small enterprising operators will start their own dubious lottery again.

@Letranknight2015 It kind of slowed down the jueteng since they are being hunted by the police and the STL can operate freely and supposed to be regulated by the government. So people flocked to STL since its legit and controlled by government. With its stoppage this operators will again start to pop up here and there. Hopefully the government could start to stop this illegal numbers game without STL they would start their operation again.

Hello @rsa101 I thought when they introduce the small town lottery, they got rid of jueteng. Looks like I was truly wrong.

You thinks its corruption or just incompetence? Either way easy way to help your country out in long run and is really one of the easier things in the world to pull off. California government gets so much money off of the lottery system.
