Summertime Snacks: Lemons

Since all the drama has unfolded here, I thought I would start a new thread that is unrelated to all the bull going on in my family. When I was younger, I loved snacking on lemons cut in half and sprinkled with a dash of salt. I would eat the lemons outside usually and when my cousins were over this was a big deal. We would have a contest to see who could eat their half first. This is an easy snack, low in calories and fun to eat if you like tart flavors. Do you like to eat lemons or lemon wedges? I used to drink hot lemons with honey after my walking exercise. Also I drink it an hour before I go to sleep at night.

@Nakitakona I thought so. Good and natural medicine there for preventive care.

I'm sure I would find them much too sour for my taste.

@kareng In the summer I like to make lemonade and love the taste of it going down my throat. The lemons are not cooperating so will not buy anymore. I take lemon juice with honey in the morning and will put lemon juice or honey in with my hot water when have it. I have never put salt on it.

I like lemon flavor, but I wouldn't eat a lemon; the texture freaks me out.

That's understandable. I'm like that with oatmeal.

I love them. With the salt it makes it tolerable.
