Tuesday 30th July was the day of the annual meal and day out for the volunteers who help out at the University Of Central Lancashire. This year we were treated to an expenses paid trip to the seaside town of Blackpool, including an all you can eat buffet meal too.
Though only about ten miles away this was a two bus journey for me and I purposely went early to explore the town (a favorite of my childhood) and add to my collection of pub signs (I already have a lot from Blackpool and there are still about forty pubs for me to find there on future trips.
This was a great day out and up to the meal, we had great weather. I had hoped to get more photos before coming home but it was raining heavily when we left the restaurant so I came home instead.
Wednesday 31st July - the end of the month and my welfare payment arrived on time, though much of it went on bills over the day and the day after too.
Thursday 1st August - A new month, starting with lots of job searching and shopping. I also cleaned the stove which was a horrible job.

@arthurchappell - The only tower I know about is the one where political prisoners were sent. In the movies they always just called it the tower.

so sad yer plans 'f takin' more pics 'twas thwarted by heavy rains. that tower 'tis somethin', eh? i presume such's accessible? 'd sure be a great way to get a birds eye view 'f the town. best 'f luck with yer job huntin'!

@crazyhorseladycx you can go up the tower but it is expensive and two friends who did go up before the meal queued for an hour to get to go up
