Cans and bottles fell: I yelled.

Today, while I was at the supermarket, a great sound started. At first I thought it was a strong wind, but there was nowhere to come from. Then the cans and bottles started to fall and I heard the sound of the earth. I panicked. Leticia was looking for something else, so we weren´t together. I ran, yelled and cursed. I bumped into a youngster that worked there. He was absolutely relaxed. I was amazed until he spoke telling me that there would be no harm. The young man did not know about earthquakes and I told him just that. His accent had given him away. He came from Venezuela. For a small while we could not call from our cellphones. Later on everything was restored. The quake was 6.6 Richter. We came home soon without using the elevator. And I´m glad we are home.

@marguicha we have seen some strong earthquakes. One in 2005 and two in 2015. Luckily Delhi was far from the epicentre in all these cases but some buildings did suffer damages. In 2015, Nepal suffered a lot due to a very devastating earthquake.

That could be scary, and you are away from Leticia. Thanks you are all right. This situation makes one panic in fear.

It is completely different when something happens in a strange place. At home, I would not have been afraid.

I am glad that you are safe. I have not checked the news of late. 6.6 is quite a string earthquake. Where was the epicentre of the quake?

This one was a rather big one. 6.6 Richter according to us. The US said it was 6.8 Richter.
