How many Cousins do you have??

As the saying goes cousins are the first friends we have in life, and I have been lucky to have always been close to mine, and I consider my first cousin Audrey my best friend. On my mom's side I grew up having 9 cousins, anytime I went up to my Grandparents house I would see my Aunt Peggy's four kids and my Uncle Roy's son, My Uncle Leo was a late in life child for my Grandparents so though technically he was my Uncle he was more like a cousin as he was the same age as my brother, and younger then two of our cousins. My other three cousins i would spend alot of time with aswell my Uncle Willie's kids i would spend alot of time with them aswell.... one cousin i didn't see much till i was older was my Uncle Roy's son Steve because he was raised by his maternal grandparents as there own son, On dad's side i was raise knowing only three cousins, i was never particularly close with them as my Aunt Judi's daughter was so much older then me, and my Uncle George's son and daughter i saw every once in awhile but they always felt more like distance cousins then first cousins. Fast forward to now i have two more first cousin on my Mom's side as my Uncle Leo now has two kids of his own whom are much younger then the rest of us cousins, so they have grew up more with my neices and nephews, and my other first cousins children, which are of course my 1st cousins 1x removed. And on Dad's side as a adult i discovered my Uncle George had two more daughters one with his first wife, and one with a girlfriend he had that he never knew about till a DNA test proved the relationship. and here is my Official Cousin Breakdown Mom's Side: 11 First Cousins 17 First Cousins 1x Removed (Children of my First Cousins) 38 First Cousins 1x Removed (First Cousins of My Mother) 85 2nd Cousins (Grandchildren of my Grandparent's siblings) Dad's Side: 5 First Cousins 12 First Cousins 1x Removed (Children of my First Cousins) 37 First Cousins 1x Removed (First Cousins of My Father) 62 2nd Cousins (Grandchildren of my Grandparent's siblings) And that's just some of them!!!! <3

I couldn't even get into the amount I have. My mom's side I have about 13ish first cousins and on my dad's it's about 35 first cousins...after that it would take some serious math and science to figure it all out. I was never close to any of my cousins growing up and most of them were a lot older than me. I do remember being semi close to a first cousin 1x removed for a bit while my aunt was watching her because her brother was going through cancer treatments and we spent a lot of time at my aunt's when I was a kid. Both of my parents come from very large families so I have more cousins than I could even try to get into.

@chrissbergstrom I was never really close to any of my cousins mostly because they were all older than me most of them by quite a bit but there were four close to my age but we just never saw them much. I was closer to my older nieces and nephews who were around our age because my siblings are quite a bit older than me and my brother. Ironically though, two of my nieces and my one nephew are also my cousins as well and my oldest brother is also my cousin so I guess that sort of counts lol. My mom had my oldest brother with my dad's half brother and then several years later had us.

My family is much smaller than yours. I only have 4 cousins (three of them are from my father's family and the last one is from my mother's family) I have never been close to them. The ones on my father's side are much older than me and my last cousin is much younger than me. I used to be her babysitter.

@chrissbergstrom Yes, we didn't have much in common because of the age difference. When I was a child my oldest cousins already had children because they were a lot older than me.

When it comes to first cousins I have 17 from both my mom and dads side of the family. Most I haven't seen in ages but a few I still keep in touch with.

I have too many cousins to count for so I’m not even going to try to count how many I have. My kids at least have 4 1st cousins and 2 second counts but they have more around the same age or s just hard.
