Of the multitude of songs, I remember enjoying in my youth, "Convoy" by CW McCall has always had a special place in my memory. I didn't think the movie by the same name was all that good, but I could listen to the song over and over. I came of age and got my first driver's license during the height of the CB radio craze of the 1970s. Yes, I had a CB in my car. I don't know if truckers even keep CBs in their trucks anymore. I retired my last radio about 20 years ago. Do you remember "Convoy," the CB radio, and the double nickel? Here is a great cover of the original by Paul Brandt.

I loved the song. I was also a trucker from 1986 to 1990 before I became very sick and couldn't drive for a long time. I had a CB in my car and truck. I think it depends on the company or if subhauling if have a CB now.

I loved the rebelliousness of it. As a teen and new driver, it struck a chord.
