This is my 400th discussion a question about features vs. Cost!

I wanted to say thank you to everyone that has read, commented and spent time on my discussions here on MyLot so far. As someone devoted to technology (it is my career). I am really curious and would love to ask the following question: Which matters more a device that does everything you need as a great reputation but costs more. Or a device that does most of what you need, costs a lot less. Is it features or cost that really drives you today?

Not always you get something better because you pay more. I evaluate the quality and features first.

@DocAndersen Many times we bought expensive products that were only expensive because of the brand, but "made in China" and not better than others.

@LadyDuck you have to buy things that have the functions you need and that do what you want well. I agree!

I am fortunate enough to be able to acquire a device that does everything I need from a company that has a great reputation.

@DocAndersen It took years of sacrifice, hard work, and delayed gratification to get here.

You get what you pay for in most cases.

Because I use my devices until they are no longer viable, I tend to buy the one with all the features I need and then some so it will last many, many years.

Gotta go with cost. But I like to shop smart and get what I need. Congrats on 400!

For example, the nest time i buy a smartphone, I will buy one with high internal memory , longer battery life which fulfills my needs but on the middle range when it comes to price.

A balance between costs and features. I am particularly interested on the lower cost but the features must be what I need and the device must be easier to use.
