In the U.S., Fred Rogers is an icon. Fred Rogers passed away in 2003, but his "Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood" and some other children's programming he worked on are immortalized for countless generations to grow up with, thanks to the wonders of modern tech. Fred Rogers invented such characters as Daniel Tiger, King Friday, and a whole slew of others. Though Daniel Tiger characters are known to children today as cartoons, they originated as a collection of Rogers' puppets. I'm writing on this topic because as a father, w/a son that is a Daniel Tiger fan, I just think it's pretty cool. I grew up watching Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood when I was a child myself, it's good, quality, wholesome programming, and everything I've ever heard about Mr. Rogers is that he was genuinely the same way, it wasn't a character "put on" for the cameras.

Tom Hanks plays Mr. Rogers in a movie about his life. That should be good.
