It was a Hot One!

Our older son’s in-laws celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary yesterday with friends and family. We are considered their family as they ours.
They hired a deejay, a bouncy house for the little ones, had a pizza truck in their driveway which served salad, a vast assortment of delicious pizzas, and gelato, and of course their pool.
It was so much fun seeing friends and family, including our son and daughter-in-law, who just returned from their vacation in British Columbia. The only special people missing were our grandkids, who are still in summer camp and loving their time there.
I did reprimand my son for not informing us of his vacation. He and his wife just looked at me in disbelief.
. Then he informed me that he is going to London a week from Wednesday.
If you saw my post last week with the bear photo, my daughter-in-law informed me that they were indeed that close and snapped the photo with their iPhone.
I’m home from brunch with my husband and friends, but will be gone later this afternoon. We have party to attend at our club, but will pop by to see how you are all doing later.

I'm glad the party went well & that's cool they had a pizza food truck for it. I love food trucks in the summer - we have them at work every Friday. I wish I was rich and could go on so many vacations like that. I have not been on a vacation yet this year only staycations which our fine too. Hope you have a great rest of your weekend.

I wouldn't mind seeing a bear at all from a safe distance, and in fact I have, but it would freak me out to have one come up on the deck for instance. Did you see that kid who got booted in the air by a bison at Yellowstone?

That anniversary party sounds fun. Never heard of anyone hiring a pizza truck to cater a party. That sounds exactly like the kind of party I wanted to be invited to 
. Gelato is so delicious. I just saw the bear picture but assumed she had zoomed in with her camera. Yikes I hope they had bear spray.

@DianneN I have been running around like mad, I went to the hospital Friday afternoon, Saturday morning to afternoon and today. It's a lot but my daughter needs a little break from it all. If I was you I would just relax and enjoy doing nothing tomorrow.

And you always have a lot of fun, whenever there's a special event to celebrate:) 50 years is a long time, to live devoted to one individual. My parents had been married 65 years, when Dad passed away!

Actually, I wasn’t shocked. He goes there for business a couple of times a year. I’m just pleased he told me in advance.
Oh, don’t envy me. I’m just doing what pops up. I do love our son’s in-laws and was grateful they included us to share in their special day with all their friends and relatives. They also invited our younger son, but he’s not in the partying mood.
