They Shoot Horses Don’t They

The reason for this heading is that I feel like an old horse ready for the glue factory. What has happened? Well, I have not been sick or even caught a virus in such a long time that I don’t even remember when I was last sick. However, I do know that it was at some time while I lived in Latvia. First of all I recognized my old symptoms of a head cold, my friendly sinuses acting up, and my head feeling like there are rocks in it and achy due to pain in the sinus pressure points. Now I have to say ay, ay, yai.
It is the first time something like this along with a small fever around 100 has hit me in ages and the only time when I have been completely alone. Suddenly I am crying like an idiot and feeling sorry for myself and then reminding myself I should be grateful that a head cold and a virus is all I have and a small fever when there are people who are really sick.
I have asked the Lord to forgive me and told Him I would not complain. In the meantime, I am hoping to get rid of this by the end of the week. I also realized that as a writer making an income online I do not have the possibility of just stopping writing until I feel better. So I am doing things in spurts. I had some content work to do and I managed to do a 1000 word article during the day and sent it saying the other article will get done tomorrow. I have sites to check on which I will begin looking at tomorrow and of course, I had to check in with all of you.
How do I manage? Well, the good thing is that my apartment is small and it does not take me long to walk from one room to the other where my bed is. So I sit up and I write until I just have to lay down. Then I go and I lay down and do some reading or just relax for about an hour and then get up and return to the PC. It is the best way I can continue with my work otherwise I would not be able to catch up if I let it go for the whole week. I do remember fondly when my mom was alive and how good it was to be taken care of and have someone by me. Unfortunately, we cannot have everything we want in life and time moves on.
So I will be online as long as I can and if I am commenting on one of your posts and disappear on another then I have had to go lay down again. SIGH It is a small illness but it just seems worse to me because I have been blessed and not had any illness in so long. In fact, I have so much time now when I lay down to rest to think things out and I realized that just like when I moved to Latvia for the first couple of years every cold, illness, sore throat zapped me because I wasn’t used to the weather of northern Europe. Now I have been in Florida for over a year but it is not the state I was born and raised in so naturally the weather running hot and cold and rainy has zapped me.
Sorry if anyone is wondering I am not being a good girl though. I am trying to rest and take care of myself and do eat a little something but when I watch some episodes of Ally McBeal right before bed I do drink a glass of red wine because I am used to doing that and it calms me and makes me sleepy.
How are you all feeling?

I’m so sorry! I wish I lived closer to take care of you. You need pain meds for the fever, cool cloths on your forehead, hot chicken soup, hot tea with lemon and or honey, plenty of liquids, and lots of sleep. I hope you feel better soon.

@DianneN I will manage to shake it on my own. I have no way to get anywhere and I would not know who to see and that would scare me more than anything. I just have to go it alone and hope I feel much better by the end of the week.

@RasmaSandra You should see a doctor just for your own peace of mind. I’m no doctor, but unless you have other symptoms, it may just be a summer flu. I hope that’s all it is. Please take care!!!

@marguicha I am given assignments for my content work which usually are about food and recipes and party ideas. Then I also write for Textbroker and for some other sites that pay. So I cannot have it all backed up. I do think I will shake this by the end of the week. I drink both water and tea.

@RasmaSandra I haven´t found any of those sites where someone from another part of the world could write. I love to cook and there are some things I make that are a complete success among my friends.

I saw that title and I immediately thought of one of my favorite Jane Fonda movies "They Shoot Horses Don't They?"--all about the marathon dances during the depression!
Living alone or not we all have that "feeling sorry for myself "--enjoy it!!! :O)
Feel better!

Everything Andria said. Honey and cinnamon in a cup of tea can help too.

Do you have any medication? You need to get that fever down, of you have no medication take cold bath, I know it will not be pleasant but it works for a fever.
If you have chicken noodle soup, eat that.
Now I am so worried about you!!

I have ibuprofen at home. The only online medication I keep on hand. I have Campbells Chicken soup I will try to eat some tomorrow. Tonight zero appetite but I am still all right sitting here. The fever is not much hovering around 100 I remember having viruses when I could not shake this little fever and sometimes the little fever made me feel worse than big fevers. Just hate feeling tired and coughing because when I cough my heat aches @andriaperry am I having fun yet???? I hope it is a thing of the past by the end of this week. but I do have to work as much as I can. Thank you for worrying if we lived nearby I would probably be sitting in your kitchen blubbering like a baby and feeling sorry for myself

I am so sorry Rasma! I hope you feel better soon! I hate being sick--and it sounds like you are motoring through it, but it can be draining at best, and even more so when you have to work through it--

I'm sorry you're not feeling well and don't have anyone to fuss over you. That always makes you feel better. Drink lots of liquids, get as much rest as you can, eat something; and your cold will run its course in no time. We are all here to support you and wish you well!

Be of good cheer. Everything would be fine.
