National Gossip Day National Root Beer Float Day 1996 - NASA announced that the ALH84001 meteorite thought to come from Mars contained evidence of primitive life-forms. 1996 - The Ramones played their farewell concert at The Palace in Los Angeles, California. 1911 - Lucille Ball was born. She was an actress, television producer and businesswoman. She is best known for her role on the I Love Lucy show with her husband, Desi Arnaz. (see clip below) She died in 1989. 1928 - Andy Warhol - He was an American painter, photographer, director and producer. He is best known for his pop art renditions of Campbell's Soup Cans (1962) and Marilyn Diptych (a screenprint painting of Marilyn Monroe - 1962). He died in 1987. Photo Credit: Free Images
