Had my fan fixed again

This was originally from my brothers and just a junk from storage but I decided to have it repaired and it works again.
But after a year the blade stopped working and it's about to over heat. So i went back but this time he showed what part was damaged and had it fixed again.
They told to just buy a new one, but then I made this one work again so what's the point of buying new brand.

That’s wonderful you were able to get it fixed. Usually fixing something outdated may cost more money versus buying a new one.

they say it's because most people forget to put oil. how much did you pay for parts and labor?

I am not so handy and would have bought a new one. If it gives trouble again and again and one has to spend time snd money on repair and labor, it would be better to replace it with a new one.
