You know it's either we trusted the wrong person to handle this or just Mom didn't take it seriously. I think that was the case because the tenants had no problem paying taxes with out us involved. But new administration forced mom to settled unpaid ones. Last week was the last payment and I was happy. Kinda remind me of that credit card that we settled for a decade too and that was pain. Where lucky that we were not closed down by the Internal Revenue Dept.

Yeah the government needs funds badly that they now resorted to running after those that committed mistakes decades ago. They can earn a lot from the compromise and penalties that you took.

Hello @rsa101 So many uncollected taxes and they're now trying to get things right. We had our first penalty then when my elder cousin were making that huge hole for a septic waste tank and the engineer we invited nearly fell in there.
