I got a call yesterday from the Giant Eagle pharmacy that my second Shingrix shingles shot has come in. My husband and I are both on the waiting list; but since we've had our first shot, we get priority when we're due for our second shot.
I was going to go today; but since I can't sleep and stay up all night, I fell asleep around 12.30 pm and didn't wake up until 2 pm which was the time I wanted to leave...and by then I no longer felt like going; and they close at 5 pm. Yes, I could have gone; but I will go another day.
Both my husband and I have had shingles before and don't want to get them again. For those of you that don't know, if you've had chicken pox in the past, you can get shingles.

I'm sorry you had a bad reaction. My husband got a hard lump which spread down his arm and onto his chest...but he will get the second one. What kind of reaction did you have?

@LindaOHio I had a viscous headache for 10 days and a very sore and achy arm. My brother was walking too close to me, and I had to ask him not to bump into my arm. That lasted two weeks.

@DianneN Oh, my goodness! Did you talk to a doctor or pharmacist about it?

Shingles. It's a virus that comes out if you've had chicken pox. You can get symptoms like a virus, plus you have painful blisters somewhere on your body (around your rib cage, for example, or it can even be near your eyes, which is bad). It can last up to about 2 weeks. Very painful.

@LindaOHio Does this happen to you or just once a year?

@JustBhem You can get shingles more than once. That's why they have the vaccine to help prevent your getting it again. The vaccine should last a long time.

Getting it into the eyes is very bad. I'm glad it didn't affect your sight.
