40 years later and...

The jocks still act like jocks, the cheerleaders still act like cheerleaders, and the smart kids still sit back and laugh at them.
Saturday night, my missus and I attended my 40th High School Class Reunion down in my hometown. We had a good time and I got to see the small handful of people I'd hoped would be there and a whole bunch of others who smile and act like they are glad to see you but overlooked you all through school.
My missus and my high school flame wound up sitting next to each other most of the night and are now bosom buddies. This is a big improvement on my 30th Reunion when my missus turned quite green when my old flame and I set eyes on each other for the first time since graduation.
My best friend from high school was not able to be there. I filled him in via Messenger on who showed up and what went on.
All in all, it was a fun night with drinking, dancing, good food, good company, and good memories.

I had very negative experiences in my high school graduation year, so I wouldn't go to a reunion for a key to Fort Knox.
My college has a "reunion" every year, but it's to beg for money, so I skip those as well.

hmm, i guess 'successful' is also relative.

My old boyfriend, who didn’t go to my high school was there with his wife, a friend of my childhood years. He spent most of the night talking to my husband and following me around.
