Our littlest ended up at the ER for a second time in the last 2 years. Don’t worry he is okay, but has a possible fractured growth plate. He is in a splint for the next 4 days and we will recheck it to see if it’s Improved. If not then we will take him to a pediatric ortho for his next treatment.
How did this happen. Well our little guy hand his hand between wrapped around the drive door and my husband didn’t see that he had his hand there while talking to his Pop’s through the doors. My husband went to shut the door and slammed on our little mans hand. It took us roughly 30 seconds to figured out why he was crying. I quickly opened the door through the passages seat. We got him ice and saw he started to swell pretty quick. That’s normal for any digits getting slammed on. Since he is small and has a lot of food allergies we worry his bones are not as strong as we would like so as procausion we took him to get it looked at.
He was a good little patient. He didn’t want to talk to the nurses or doctor but they where all friendly and gave him things to keep him happy. After a set of x-rays a physical look and feel of his hand the doctor said there could be something on his growth plate since it happens right on that spot and it might not be able to be seen right now on x-Ray. We know how that goes some times you got to take more after the swelling and stuff is gone.
He was just happy to have his blue slurpie because the kids ER has a matchine for the kids.

He is a good little patient. He has seen some many doctors in his 4 years of life that he is actually used to be poked and stuff. So when he is hurt or sick we don’t worry about taking him in because he typically is well behaved when he has see someone. He understands they were there to help.
