World Elephant Day Vinyl Record Day 1851 - Isaac Singer is granted a patent for his sewing machine. 1981 - The IBM personal computer is introduced. 1939 - George Hamilton was born. He is an American movie and TV actor known for his debonair style and perpetual tan. In his debut performance in 1959 in Crime and Punishment U.S.A. he won a Golden Globe Award. Some of his other movies: Home from the Hill, Light in the Piazza, Your Cheatin' Heart, Love at First Bite (see below), Zorro the Gay Blade, Godfather Part III, Doc Hollywood and The Congressman. There are people that will only purchase vinyl or have gone back to vinyl because of the sound.
