On 4th August I wrote a post about my friend's ex-boyfriend. He had been convicted for abusing a thirteen-year-old girl over a period of two years. https://www.mylot.com/post/3295548/convicted-of-sexual-abuse-charges M friend let me know last night that he had been sentenced to seven years in jail and placed on the sex offenders list for life. The story is worse than we both thought. I have copied the link below. Personally I hope he never gets out. What do you think?

I don't think he should ever see the light of day again. They never get what they deserve. That girl has to live with it the rest of her life..hers is a life sentence and so should his be.

@Happy2BeMe It is extremely upsetting. My friend told me his first wife accused him of interfering with a younger relative

Only 7 years? That is too short. That kind of criminal should have a life sentence in jail.

7 years is such a short time for ruining a young person's life. He is such an evil man should have been life sentence for such crimes.

He should never get out. I have had to deal with a lot of this. I feel that people, men or women who does this horrible act needs to be put on an island with nothing but what they are wearing. They will either be killed by animals or eaten by others so they can stay a live.

Didn't get a chance to read the article, but seven years for this does not seem like near enough time. Hopefully the other prisoners will make sure he never gets out.

dreadful. Did the mother know? Here he might get killed in general setting. would have to be in seclusion from general population. He should have gotten more time.

@Gillygirl some know. Like mine did and blame the child. I was sent to my aunts when I told my mom that's why I wondered. at least he will pay some. Here it is twenty five years I think. now

@Gillygirl Yes, it is. Her family basically abandoned her to the streets instead of looking into why she started acting out the way she did. She could have gotten help a lot sooner.

Weird. The story doesn't say what he did. But it obviously traumatized the child. I hope she gets therapy and can carry on with her life.

@Gillygirl I assume her name is kept confidential. I wonder what leads people to do this kind of thing. I have worked with victims. But not perpetrators.
