I am pretty sure most members here are bilingual. Well i was born in the united states and i lived in puerto rico for about 6 years of my life. I did middle school and some high school there. When i came back to the states and went to high school it was difficult for me. If anything I learned how to write proper spanish or whatever and that made it hard for me to even write an essay. In puerto rico we don't do essay's. I didn't even know what that was. I had people say stuff like "that's no excuse". I can't believe some can be so messed up like that. Til this day i can say that i don't speak full english or spanish. I am constantly searching google how to spell certain words. I am always forgetting how to say things. Also when you are on places like facebook we don't even write out the entire words. We just be like "hru" or "u ok". It's just a faster way to text now. So you get used to that and some don't realize that. That's why i don't be judging because i am so far from perfect man. That doesn't mean you go around teasing others because of how they talk or write. I have learned that bullies clearly do it to obviously feel better about themselves. I have no need to go around like that knowing this person speaks more than one language. I speak english and spanish.

It's going to be interesting to watch how our language continues to evolve with the advent of texting. Many shortcut words that we use in texting will someday become standard english words. I think the hard part is going to be for those who don't know the language well, or are trying to learn english. They won't know what hru, ttyl, brb, ty and other texting shortcuts mean! I have taken many years of spanish in school, but unless you are speaking the language regularly, it's hard to become fluent. I probably have forgotten most of what I have learned in school.
