Good Afternoon & Health Report - Day 48

I'm home and happy to say the morning went better than usual. I didn't need to fight with the nurse. She used the right size needle, and it only took one time. She didn't need to call the SWAT nurse, which was good. I also didn't need to wait overlong for the medication to come up from the pharmacy. It was a very good morning. I wish they were all as easy as this morning was.
Now, I'm home and ready to interact with all of you and get rid of the hundred-plus notifications I have since I wasn't here this morning.
I also have the health report from yesterday, which when I calculated the numbers were better than I expected.
Calories: 1294
Sugar: 83.18
Carbs: 127.18
Protein: 48.1
Sodium: 715.2
Fat: 65
No burned calories.
Today I got a workout in the pool so I burned calories this morning. I'm going to need to figure out how to cut down those numbers even more and still eat. I had one potato and one banana yesterday. I also had a bowl of fruit which was high in carbs. I'm not going to go to an all-protein diet. I need to eat more than meat and eggs.
Hopefully, the doctor will be helpful on Friday. If I'm retaining water, and I'm sure I am, going on water pills should help the situation.
Okay, time to interact. Thanks for reading.

It sounds good. I know you love potatoes and bananas, but you might want to try to substitute some other fruits sometimes that are lower in calories like peaches are in season now, and they are cheap, or berries are wonderful. Not sure if they are less calories, but I think sweet potatoes are lower on the glycemic index.

@just4him That seems very high..a small peach is less calories than a banana for sure. Berries are like one cup 55 calories.

@snowy22315 I'm showing 59 calories for a medium peach. A cup of triple berry blend that I buy from the freezer section is 70 calories, 8 sugar, and 16 carbs.

@just4him Hope so. It would not do any good to go when you are in pain tho anyways.

@wolfgirl569 If it's not bad, the pool and hot tub really help the knees.

For a while I was on a water pill.t worked wonders for my water retention at that time! My heart wasn't doing its job. Usually, two fruits and one potato is an excellent amount, for dieting. As a diabetic, I always include one starchy food(potato or noodles) and two serving of fruit each day. When lean meat/eggs are included, calories are enough to maintain good health. Your numbers look great!

The numbers always surprise me. If I limit one area, another goes sky high. I've noticed protein is high in sodium. Fruits and veggies are high in carbs. We need a good balance so we don't become deficient in the various areas we need for a good productive life.

@just4him I imagine that's why it's call a balanced diet. And what amazes me, it's different for every one of us!

Yay, on the blood draw. I hate inexperienced techs in the lab. I have rolling veins and this is not when you should jab harder and hope you get it. Glad you got in a good workout today too. I was lazy today. Just fed the humans and animals. Gotta get dinner going in a bit.

wonderful 'bout the blood draw, hon. i've great veins (they wave 't'cha will lil effort) 'n get more'n a tad cranky when someone claims diff'culty hittin' such. i'm a one-chance kinda gal. ya missed, get somebody else.
when yer lookin' 't carbs, ya need to see the diff'rence 'twixt goods'un 'n bad'uns. some're most healthy, others not so much'n need to be eatin''n very small portions.
if'n ya go'n water pills, aint that gonna deplete yer salt purty quick?? i hope yer doc's gonna offer good suggestions fer ya.

Remember you do burn calories even when sleeping. Very very low but we are always burning calories so it's not like you posted a zero.
