Reading this quote made me think about people and how sensitive we are to what others have to say. Our feelings get hurt, we take things personally, we think comments are directed at us that may have nothing to do with us. I think there are those of us that need to grow a thicker skin. I know I do. Anyway, today has been one of those extra busy days for me. We went to the Courthouse to get out licenses updated and to get a disabled card for the car. We got them accomplished and then went upstairs to get our homestead exemption. Somewhere between downstairs and upstairs the disability card and info just disappeared. People were looking around for it but nobody found it. So we had to cancel the first one and get a new one. We ended up going back upstairs to finish our business and found out that we need a certified copy of our marriage license. For heaven sakes, I haven't seen it in over 19 years. It got lost somewhere between Florida and New York during one of our moving trips. We had to go to the county where we were married, oh so many years ago, to get a certified copy of it. Now, thank heavens, we are back home again. I am pooped, ready to go to bed and sleep tomorrow. Now, tomorrow we have to go back to the clerk and finish up what we started today. I think I deserve a trip to the library tomorrow. How has your day gone?

What country were you married in and how long did it take you to get the certified copy of your marriage license? I'm sorry you lost the disabled card for the car and had to get a new one. Yes, you deserve a trip to the library tomorrow.

@HazySue You're welcome. I know some people have exotic weddings. My daughter did. She was married in Jamaica. So, wasn't sure about your 'country'. I'm glad it was only a simple typo and you have your documents.

@just4him Our youngest daughter was married in Fiji several years ago. These destination weddings are beautiful.

We were married in a county about two hours from where we live now. Because we were able to drive there they had it ready when we arrived at the office. If we had had them mail it, it would have taken about a week to receive it. When I read your comment I went back and carefully reread my post. I had made an error that I corrected. Thanks for alerting me.

It is miserable when you are awake in the middle of the night. I sometimes use the time to let my mind wander and jot down a few ideas for online and for patterns to design.

I didnt get it why you need marriage certificate now? As ealier you went through same process right? Here you just need to apply for a duplicate copy and it will be delivered to you. But the process takes alot of time. I am happy for you as you got it in a day... I know overall itwas a tiring day for you. But you will be happy as you got almost all your tasks completed. Good Night I had busy day at office. Just reached home and thinking of heading to bed

They require a certified copy of the license. I am more than thrilled that everything is done and over.

It seems like any time you start any type of government proceedings, you need paperwork you don't have or what you have isn't any good! What a giant pain! Hopefully tomorrow will go smoother. I need to remove a middle name on my Social Security card; and I know that's going to require all kinds of paperwork.

It is a royal pain. I am in the same position - I will have to remove a middle name on my Social Security card sometime soon. I wish they had let us know when we first enter a name for them.

Everything these days is wrapped up in red tape. I love bird watching. Right now most of the birds are hiding. It's a bit wet out.
