When it Rains, it Pours

Something tells me I've used this title before. I live a very boring life. I spend all year just doing the same mundane things day after day. Now all of a sudden everything is happening at once. It seems to be the same way every fall. I received an invitation in the mail for a baby shower for my niece on September 28th. I realized that is the same day as the church garage sale in which I wanted to participate since I can't seem to pull one together here. After all, there will be a big turn out of buyers. Then I looked at the calendar and saw that there is an event at the library the very same day that I really want to attend, and SHOULD attend due to our writing group's partnership with the library. What the heck? Three events all scheduled for the same day? The baby shower is an hour drive away. I can do both the garage sale and library event the same day as one is probably in the morning, the other in the afternoon. I may have to skip the shower. I've been bugging my daughter (who works for the airlines) about going to Vegas to see Donny & Marie before they close out their 10 year show in November. She has come up with September 30th to October 2nd. What else? Our cousins on my mother's side of the family had a 4-5 day retreat/reunion last year later in October we loved so much we want to do it again, but due to availability have to move it to earlier in October this year. It is tentatively scheduled for October 6th to 10th but if another group comes along we could get bumped. Please, please don't make it earlier and run into my trip to Vegas. We had such a grand time last year I really don't want to miss it. I'm also going to my very first writers conference on October 26th. My birthday is the end of October. Hubby and I are planning on going away again this year. My daughter is keeping an eye out on resort prices to where her airlines flies. I said last week of November/first week of December. Money is not an issue because I have more inheritance money coming at the beginning of September and then the big chunk sometime next year after taxes are done. But then my husband came home from work the other day and said there is a rumour going around that the company he works for may be being sold. It has been sold several times in the past 30 years but there is always the worry that the plant could shut down completely. If that is the case, my husband says we can't afford to live in this town (taxes are too high). I am just getting to really love my home, feel so comfortable. Positive vibes that he doesn't lose his job this late in his life. More positive vibes that my computer doesn't die. It has been acting funny lately. And the new tv we bought my husband for Father's Day. Like I said, when it rains, it pours.

if yer close with yer niece, ya need to be't the baby shower. if'n not, wait 'til such's o'er, find out what she didn't get she really wishes 'n get such fer her. there'd be "the domino effect" 'n life 't seems. i hope yer able to do what'cha feel ya need 'n jest let the rest go. fingers crossed'n yer hubs job. i'd not fret o'er the house part. run gremlin getters'n yer puter, clean yer cache. no words fer the tv, they're all pieces 'f junk :)

I'm not overly close with any of my family members (not one more than the other I mean). I will still send a gift. My daughters were invited as well and the oldest is working two jobs that day and my younger daughter, well, she'll be teaching by then and working weekends at the job she is at now (unless she quits). Since they are registered at Babies R Us I will send a gift.

Seems like it always is... the fall. The only time of year that things get really busy.
