I have heard horror stories about CPS (Child Protective Services) in the United States. As their name implies, they are supposed to be a line of defense for children in bad situations, like abusive homes.
However, I have heard of cases where they essentially KIDNAPPED children from loving homes on mere accusations alone. I would not call CPS to intervene in situations where I suspected abuse.
I'd call the police directly & let THEM handle it, bypassing CPS entirely.
I just don't trust CPS as an agency.

You are right. On another site, someone wrote his story about his granddaughter. Due to family issues, the grandparents were taking care of the girl to keep her in the family. The CPS in that state swooped down on them and took the girl away. Now the girl is grown and demanded to know her real family and they have been united. But I can imagine what they all went through.

My friend has a negative experience with CPS she did everything she was supposed to and they still took her son away, the lady had the nerve to complain about diplomas hanging on the wall.

@Michellekidwell, I am convinced they often look for any excuse they can to steal children in the name of protection.

@jnrdutton I can’t say I disagree with you but it only leaves the ones who are truly at risk
In danger!

@Michellekidwell I'd respect CPS if they didn't act like paid government thugs. It seems like sometimes when accusations of child abuse are made, it's just taken as Gospel and reason goes out the window because of overzealousness and fear.

The CPS acts first and asks questions later. It needs to be the other way around!
