So today we have a very small reptile visitor in our house. I went to get the mail. The kids went out front to play like normal. I was coming back in and our door wasn’t latched alway. Even with it all the way this little guy still could have gotten in. A little blue tailed skink scurried into the house. I lost him for a few minutes in the living room. He is just a baby and got scarier. I texted my husband upstairs telling him it was in the house and I need help finding him. He came down. I picked up a few toys from off the floor and blankets the kids left there. Just watching to see if he crawled by. My husband went by one of his fish tanks to get a fishing net to scoop him up in. The next this I hear is him saying he was just sitting in the net. Haha he ran to his in the fishing net because it’s blue like him. We put him back into the bush where he belongs. I jsur don’t want him in the house getting stepped on.

I like skinks. I remember chasing and catching them on the playground of our school when I was a kid.

They are cute to look at. Some times we catch one just for a few minute to look at but we put in a tank with a lid. The kids love it and we do a little lesson about them. This way they know if it’s okay to touch or not. One of our neighbors has a baby deer she is raising right now. It’s too young to be on its own.

@ShyBear88 That is really neat that you use the opportunity to turn it into an educational session for the kids. Kids are afraid of nature these days because they know nothing about it. So the more kids can learn about nature, the more they will appreciate it.

@moffittjc that’s why the kids are in Scouts so this way they know about nature and if something happens and they get loads in the woods and stuff they can use what they know to get to safety or wait till help arrives

No it’s not! No big deal it didn’t hurt anyone and it couldn’t. It didn’t take long to find him. He was right there in plain sight and was brought back outside to where he could find food easier

That is a very pretty, if you can say snakes are pretty. I had one come right out of the ground one day when I was talking to my neighbor. She knows a lot about snakes and got her book out to figure what kind it was. I said I didn't care what it is I just want him out of here. I do not like any kind of snake, no matter what color it is. Mine was different shades of red, gold and a few other colors.

It’s not a snack. I wrote it’s a skink it’s a little lizard we get them all of the time where we live. Typically they just hand out in the bushes eating small bugs. This little guy is a male because it has a blue tail. The girls have a red typed tail.
