Good afternoon on this wet and cloudy day from Epsom,NH
they tell us we need to socialized.
When many of our friends are gone.
I have tried this to socialize with people
Some are good and some are horrible.
Maybe have not found the right group.
I do not want to hear about their health or family or grandchildren.
I just want to enjoy the company .Going for a walk.Stop at a cafe for coffee etc.
The one I have met were too much.this and that .Children etc.
just want to have someone to enjoy the arts, theater, etc.
Nope not going to happen. We have to do it alone
they tell us we need to socialize and we can benefit by this.
What is your take on this.To be or not to be is the question.lol

We have to find the right kind of friends. I have a handful of those.

Oh I agree there must be people around the elderly to keep active and alert.

I have a neighbour that I was chatting with last night after supper.
Her husband was placed in a long term care facility last winter due to his declining dementia.
She spends her days running to the home to visit him and has virtually no social life.
She told me that she's moving to a condo where they have a social room, and they have breakfasts and coffee hours and potluck dinners in there. She knows a few people from her church that live there and she is looking forward to it for the social aspect.
Socialization is an aspect of life that we never lose the need for.

I would love to hear about peoples health, family and grandchildren. I would love to hear about arts as well as many other topics. You want to speak to those you can relate to and not be bored by I guess and that's okay. I'm shy but socialization does feel nice. I rarely see anyone outside of my house so online socialization is about all I get.

It can be hard to find the right people who have similar interests.

You always have your partner in crime Mike! Being with or around people is something that was never important to me.

I hate hearing a long blah, blah, blah, about some operation they had! Then, flops out 20 pictures for me to look at! I'd rather talk about natural beauty, the lake, or a lovely day at the beach
