Contractors are Busy?

I thought that it would be easy to get bids on the various things that need to be done at the other house; but so far we only have one bid; and it's for the roof. Contractors must be really busy this time of year trying to get as much work done as they can before the weather turns bad.
I keep leaving messages for people; but they don't call back. Very frustrating. Fortunately the realtor that was trying to put together the land sale for the developer has some connections. We may be forced to go with whomever he has.
Hurry up and wait. I hate that!

dunno if'n y'ave 'd bad weather where yer residin', but sometimes that'd be a factor. hail storms come through here'n 'ts purty much wait'n line. i know my momma's shower 'twas leakin', made 'bout 20 calls 'fore someone came out fer'n estimate. he told her the pan 'twas messed 'p, he'd jest put a fiberglass shower unit to replace. but he couldn't do't fer 3 months coz they t'were so backed'p with work. with the high winds 'f spring, the fence 'twixt her'n the neighbors came crashin' down. took 3 weeks to get'n estimate, they didn't get to 't til late july. which by then 'd been more damage from more winds. they jest finished 't this past week....

Thank you. We're having a stretch of little rain right now; so we'd like to get the roof done ASAP. Before that we've had gully-washers just about every day.

@crazyhorseladycx We already have. The ceiling is coming down in two rooms and one of the walls.

The one that upsets me is the guy that has put on TWO roofs for us. He said he would give us a bid and never called back. I've called him three times; and I won't call again.
