What was your "Boy Scout" act for today?

So I'm at the gas station buying cigarettes and Gatorade (didn't need gas) and the folks behind the counter (always nice to me) are griping because some older guy in a car is gesturing toward them, but they don't know what he wants. So I say, "Maybe he has one of those disabled license plates and needs help pumping gas." The other customer lady confirms my hypothesis and brings in a $20 bill from the guy. I say, "I'll pump his gas. All I'm doing this afternoon is writing and going to the pool." So I go out, put my cigs and Gatorade in my truck (at my own pace) and then go check out the scene. He's maybe in his mid-70s, perhaps of middle-Eastern descent, and looks a tiny bit confused. I say, "I got you" and put $20 dollars worth of gas in his gas tank. I make sure not to lose the gas cap, replace it, and say, "You're good to go, Sir." He thanks me, I do a quick "namaste" sign to him, and we're both off to our respective destinations. Is it that frigging hard to be helpful when the cost to you is TWO minutes of your life? Don't ask The Horse why he prefers children and horses to adult humans. He might just give you a swift double-hind-foot kick in the ribs.

Well, I never left my house today, so I couldn't really claim to have done any Boy Scout good deeds. But then again, maybe me staying at home WAS the good deed to someone out there in the world! haha

I managed not to be obnoxious to anyone out there. At least I think so. Horse Jr. and I just got back from a great swim at the pool.

I did a good deed! I did not T bone the stupid woman that pulled out in front of me, I had to slam on the brakes sending everything in the backseat to the floor. Then on the interstate speeding in the middle lane of three this car comes flying, had to be 100, past me and the SUV in front of me, drive between the SUV and a semi truck. People were crazy today. Oh yes I did do a good deed, I bought Tony Chinese food cause he asked for it.

Did Tony enjoy the Chinese? What did you get? I want to share vicariously. I love Chinese.

@andriaperry I don't think I like that. Killing (or almost killing) 12-year-olds is not nice.

Haven't been up and about long enough yet to do anything other than come here and eat breakfast but I gave away three cucumbers yesterday.

It is not at all hard to help people and I always do when I notice that someone needs a little help. What did I do? I helped a woman to scan her items at a self cashing, to pay, to get her stuff and go.

@TheHorse I do not have to ask you because I prefer animals to most humans also.

That was kind of you. Interesting. a couple days ago I was getting gas - and I saw this older couple, team effort they are lifting filled gas cans from the ground into the back of their car - so I asked if I can help. They turned me down - but , I felt good about offering anyway

It isn't hard at all but some seem to think it is. The older I get, the better living on a desert island looks.
