Contractor/House Update 8/27/19

The waterproofing guy met with my husband yesterday and told him to get the gutters cleaned out and the water in the room off the garage dry up. Well, we've tried that before; but OK. He said if that doesn't work we need to have some trenching done (not as extensive and expensive as a full waterproofing job). They don't do it; but he knows someone who does. So I called two gutter cleaner outfits (my husband is too old to try and do it himself AND the roof is very high and steep - very dangerous). Haven't received any bids yet. Still waiting on one more bid on the roof; and then we can go ahead with that. My husband measured the desk and the piano; so we can go ahead and run the ad the weekend after Labor Day. I guess that's all for now. Have a good evening. Photo Credit: Pixabay

I hope you get that last bid soon. Isn't it a pain having to wait on other people for things you need ASAP?

Yes, it is. They are busy with their own agendas and don't realize that you need the work done right away.

@LindaOHio I agree with @andriaperry -- a general contractor may be in your best interest, especially if they don't call you back. The business world will connect with the business world faster than individuals.

What you need is a general contractor to get it all done, he comes in and has a crew for every job.

@LindaOHio Yes that is what Tony`s dad did for a living and as well an old cousin. For instance, if they are building a new house, these guys have from the ground up businesses ready and lined up. At each stage of the build.

If we were close my husband could get the work done for you, for affordable prices. I hope you find someone great though!

Clearly I am going backwards. I think I should start with your first post, and perhaps I shall. So are you selling your piano? Do you play?

Hope you find someone soon. It is a pain to clean the gutters. Hopefully you can get the trenching done.
