Hello myLot, how are you today?
It is a hectic week here in Florida. Hurricane Dorian is headed for us. There isn't much gas around, thankfully I was able to get some. Water bottles and canned food are disappearing off the shelves. Most of our friends have headed north to avoid the storm, and we'll be putting up the shutters tomorrow and riding the storm out.
To anyone who is also in this situation, I hope and pray that you stay safe!

I am so thankful that Dorian didn't inch any closer to Florida than it did. Would you have evacuated if it had stayed on its original trajectory of hitting Florida? I don't have the option to evacuate since I'm on the search and rescue emergency response team. Well, I could evacuate my home, but I would just relocate to the Emergency Operations Center to wait out the storm.

@isweartokira Did you ever get your birthday Disney trip in yet, or has the storm put things on hold for a little bit?

@moffittjc put things on hold of course, but Tyler and I joked to just go during the storm since the parks were open on Tuesday

thanks. I've never been to Wisconsin, maybe that's where I'll hide for the next hurricane

Make sure you have plenty of cash on hand. Refill any medication you might need. Have plenty of batteries for flashlights. The banks were closed after Sandy for like a week. The lines at gas stations went on for over a mile. And this is a silly one but make sure you have a manual can opener. We only had an electric one.

these are all great tips! I think we're good on everything, but now that you mention it I might pick up extra batteries

I think most of it has avoided us now, the poor Bahamas were battered and I feel so bad
hopefully it doesn't go up North to you, stay safe as well!

I hope everyone can share a fair warning to relatives and fellows there....its better to save lives instead of dealing it the last moment...I would suggest you head somewhere safer too if only just for caution its a far better choice. I hope everyone stays safe
