A Scary New Experience.

Just a few moments ago, Yogi ran out of the house when my son opened the gate. I have not yet put him on a leash. He was so excited as there were some spots with some grass he likes to roll and sit upon.
A new scare for me when he cross the road and went to a nearby gutter with some sands and dried leaves. He was so excited and engaged that he gets angry when I touched him or try to get him out of the place. He almost bit me when I tried to carry him. And he won't listen or accept the dog treat I am trying to give him. As no one can do anything for us and he is our pet I need to find a way to get him out of there. Luckily, I was able to put the leash on his neck and I pull him out, then I called him.
We just started to train him. He can sit, down and stay for a few seconds but I am pretty sure he is not yet stable with this training and so am I.
When we got inside the garage, Yogi looked at me with his innocent puppy eyes as if telling me he did not mean it.
Dog training is harder than I thought.
Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks.

Good luck with it. You are always training the dog. When I had my dog I wanted to trust her so we were inside our building and I took the leash off of her and what did she do she ran down the stair and out of the building and left me very shocked and when I went out looking for her could not find her. She followed a dog that was coming to visit a neighbor in my building and the neighbor brought her down to me.

But when the dog gets used to his master, it's easy to train him.

Training any pets is difficult. You have to be rude as well as love them..

Grandma and I tried when the three new ones were younger but we eventually gave up and just taught them to sit every once a while. They are four dogs so you can imagine how hard it is.
Good luck with yours.

Yogi is a curious little pup but really needs to listen. Hope you can get him to obey when you ask

I go along with Judy Ev..he has to know you are master of the pack, and what you say goes. If he thinks he is equal or above you, you will always have problems. Yes, watch the dog training videos on the web. They should help you. My last dog was kind of a reluctant obeyer. He would do what you said, but in his own good time. You'd call him to come in..and he would straggle along the way smelling every bush, flower tree etc..every once in a while he would wag his tail at me..like I'm coming...
