Yesterday Was a BAD Day

I wasn't online much at all yesterday. The morning started out fine. It was promising to be a hot day, but still a fairly nice day.
The day went haywire when I heard my husband on his cell phone back in the bedroom. His voice was raised and I heard him from the den saying, "Calm down, I can't understand you." I knew that it was one of our three daughters on the phone.
I ran to the back of the house to see what was going on. It was Ashley, one of the twins. She manages a cafe that is in a truck stop. She was in tears and hysterical. She had received a phone call from EMS regarding one of their very good customers. They were currently working on him and they asked her to come down since she was a good friend.
She ended up having to drive herself there. Her father in law refused to babysit so her significant other could drive her so he stayed home with the two kids. This wasn't a situation for small kids to be around. I stayed on the phone with her until she got there.
Our friend died. They worked on him for 20 minutes but were not successful. He had a heart attack while getting into his 18 wheeler. They also thought someone hit him on the back of his head. He was single, divorced and left behind a daughter in her 20's.
Before the police, EMS, and the cororner left a lady ran inside saying her husband was not breathing. His truck was parked on the opposite end of the truck stop. This man also had a heart attack and passed away in his sleep.
Now the police are wondering if there is a connection between the two. Are drugs involved? The asked what these two men ate at the cafe the previous night. And then a third call comes in about another death reported at a hotel not even a mile away. This mad was discovered by housekeeping and appeared to also be a heart attack.
My daughter spent the afternoon there assisting with the investigation. After getting home I called to check on her. I told her that I think Wayne's object is butterflies. I told her about going outside after talking to her earlier and there was an unusual amount of butterflies. I relayed this to her so she could tell Payton that Wayne was watching over her and thinking of her. Her daughter who is 7 was very upset over this. Wayne always played with her and paid attention to her. He was a great friend and always willing to help out.
Ashley took her daughter outside to spend some time with her and they too were greeted with a swarm of butterflies that fluttered around her. This seemed to help Payton feel better and deal with this unexpected death of her "buddy." She will always associate butterflies with Wayne now.
Rest in peace, Wayne. We will all miss you dearly.
